Re-Opening and Recommitment at Caloundra Uniting Church
24 February 2025

by Judy Morrison, Caloundra Uniting Church
When Caloundra Uniting Church was faced with the need for the urgent replacement of the roof of the church building, we were led to take the opportunity to renovate the worship centre and make it more open, welcoming and accessible to all.
It took a long time! And we have been very grateful in that time to be able to share the space of the lovely Chapel at Unity College, the ecumenical school with which we share a local partnership. Thank you, Unity!
Finally it was done!
On Sunday 16 February the Moderator joined us as the guest preacher at a worship service in the refurbished building to celebrate, challenge us and re-commit us.
The Service was led by our Pastor, Steven Fincham and the Moderator Rev. Bruce Moore. The re-commitment of the congregation in the newly renovated building was led by the Presbytery Minister, Pastor Graham Huth, Rev. Bruce Moore and Pastor Steven Fincham.
The Service was attended by many dignitaries including politicians, clergy of other denominations, retired clergy who have served at Caloundra Uniting, heads of local schools and a large congregation.
Members old and new joined together to share fellowship before and after the service, enjoying a delicious morning tea and the treat of coffee from the new Barista machine.
Please pray for us as we develop our ministry in new directions in this space.
