Resources for Engaging Younger Generations and Intergenerational Discipleship & Mission – December Update

To help Enable, Equip and Encourage a growing and flourishing church across Queensland, we regularly share links to resources for education, worship, discipleship, and mission both with Younger Generations and Intergenerationally.

This month includes resources for Advent and Christmas and other interesting articles, books and podcasts, we think are worth exploring.

Intergenerational Advent Resource is here!

A new Advent resource titled "Shine the light of hope, peace, joy and love this Christmas" is available on the Hub. Based on the Lectionary readings, this intergenerational resource includes:

• weekly worship gathering resources (Advent 1-4, Christmas Day)
• a community/family resource (The Great Light Challenge) that you might like to print and gift to families connected to outreach ministries of your church like Playgroup, Day Camp or UEL families.
• small group/Faith @home material for worshipping and families exploring discipleship.

Cultivate Intergenerational Faith Coaching Program

Jillian Ross has developed a new coaching program - This is a 6 + 3 session journey to help you assess, vision, plan, and implement a sustainable faith-forming intergenerational ministry in your unique context.

Here's an overview of the program:

Phase 1: 6 Weekly Sessions

1. Current Reality Check – Exploring your current ministry landscape
2. Where Are You Going? – Clarifying your vision which is unique to your context
3. Faith Formation at All Ages – Assessing and enhancing discipleship across the lifespan
4. Experiencing God – Deepening spiritual rhythms for yourself and others
5. Possibilities, Plans & Resources – Dreaming big and developing a resourced, realistic plan
6. Obstacle Mapping & Preparation – Identifying and preparing for obstacles and change

Phase 2: 3-Month Implementation

• Guided support through email check-ins or short calls
• Resources and encouragement as you implement your plan

Phase 3: 3 Fortnightly Follow-Up Sessions
