Rise Up, Lead, Prepare at Toowong Uniting Church

This year, Toowong Uniting Church will be hosting a 10-week Residential Leadership Program (RLP), from the 29th of August to the 8th of November 2026. This opportunity is for young adults (18 - 25ish) who want to explore where God is calling them. Through this live-in experience, participants will be equipped with leadership skills, a personal mentor to assist them throughout their journey with us, study at Trinity College, as well as weekly opportunities to grow their communication and community building abilities. We expect that this program will encourage your young people to grow in faith, develop their ministry skills and step boldly into who God has created them to be.

Some key aspects include:

• Living at the heart of Toowong
• A 6-week theology subject 'God's Mission and the Local Church' at Trinity College (choice of study from audit, certificate to Masters level)
• Weekly Christian leadership training and mentoring
• Exploring different ministry areas at Toowong Uniting Church and beyond (Playgroup, English Conversation, Kids and Youth Ministries, University Ministries, Young Adult etc)
• An optional hands-on ministry project

The RLP will be a 20hr weekly commitment, allowing flexibility for our young people. If they are studying, they may even be able to count the Trinity unit as credit towards other study, depending on their university (they will have to contact their home university to confirm).

The cost of this 10-week Residential Leadership Program is $500. This covers accommodation, weekly training content, study at Trinity College, and all RLP associated activities. We ask participants to also provide their own finances for discretionary spending (we recommend $50-$100+ a week).
