Ordination and Induction of Rev Dempsey Malcolm Scanlan

RESPONSE by Rev Malcolm Scanlan
With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I give thanks and praise to God for the great privilege and opportunity to celebrate my Ordination and Induction service held on 6 December at Living Water Uniting Church, Broadwater Road.

It was a deeply sacred and joyful occasion, marked by God’s faithfulness, grace, and calling. I am thankful for the Spirit’s presence among us and for the many hands and hearts that made this day such a meaningful celebration of God’s work and promise. Truly, it was a beautiful day of worship, commitment, and shared faith — praise be to God.

I extend my sincere thanks to our dear Moderator, Rev. Bruce Moore, Associate General Secretary Rev. Linda Hanson, Presbytery Minister Catherine Solomon, Rev. Dr. Tim Winslade, and to Living Water Uniting Church for so generously hosting this service.

I am deeply grateful to the Queensland Synod, my dear South Moreton Presbytery, my Trinity College family and my Team, The Mission Accompanying Team for their guidance, support, and faithful accompaniment on this journey.

Thank you Rev Paul Clark for preaching a beautiful Word, and to all who took part in the service, thank you.
A special word of thanks to Catherine, Karryn, and Linda for their dedication and care in organising our service, and to Jane, the Rhema Worship Team, and Pastor Amy Yang for leading us so beautifully in worship and hymns and to Uncle Sam Catering for the beautiful food.

To all my beloved family and friends who gathered to witness and celebrate this moment together — your presence was a blessing beyond words. I give thanks to God for each of you and for the shared joy of this day. Praise be to God.
