The rejuvenation of Toowong Uniting Church is profiled in the latest video as part of the Plentiful Conversation series. As part of this rejuvenation, the congregation worked hard to create a missional imagination where members of the congregation celebrated the stories of where God was at work in people’s lives beyond church on a Sunday.

Despite the limitations of lockdowns, people from all over the Synod are coming together in the Plenty working groups to speak openly and honestly about making changes and discovering ways forward. 

In the latest Plentiful Conversation video, representatives from across the life of the church gathered in the Brisbane CBD for a celebration of the Uniting Church’s commitment to our communities. The introduction, speeches and public service in King George Square can be viewed in the above video.

The words may be more than 40 years old, but the Statement to the Nation remains a call for the Uniting Church. This video was presented at the Transforming Communities Celebration held last Wednesday evening.

The extraordinary work at the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Support Hub at Indooroopilly Uniting Church is profiled. Through the initiative, refugees and asylum seekers are able to access a range of support services including legal aid, mental and health counselling, medical issues and providing connections.

In this video, attendees at the recent gathering of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) hosted by the Moderator shared how First Peoples can contribute to the growth and development of the Uniting Church.

The development is aimed at creating a community services space where people can access life transforming services in what is one of the fastest growing regions within south-east Queensland.
