The Queensland Synod Disaster Relief Appeal is an ongoing appeal that raises money for those impacted by a natural disaster in the state of Queensland, including flood/fire/drought/cyclone or any other natural disaster. The disaster relief efforts of the Uniting Church in Queensland through the Synod office, local congregations and presbyteries, aim to assist community recovery and resilience at a time of crisis.
Bushfire Relief
Help communities cope as bushfires burn across south east Queensland, with predictions for a horror fire season still to come. Give to fire relief efforts in these areas.
Drought Relief
Over 50 per cent of Queensland has now been declared drought-affected. Many of our farmers, families and communities in these areas have been doing it tough for several years. Give to drought relief efforts in Central and West Queensland.
Applying for Grants
If your local congregation or community is struggling with either the flood crisis or the drought crisis, we can help you with grants of up to $5,000 per congregation which you can then use for purposes of disaster relief in your local and surrounding areas.
All grants are from the Queensland Synod Disaster Relief Fund.
