On the 7th and 8th of September 2022, the Uniting Church in Australia Queensland Synod hosted a convocation to discuss and resource ministry agents on the subject of Voluntary Assisted Dying in Queensland.

The Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2021 was passed in September 2021 and is now law (coming into effect as of 1 January, 2023). The implications for both the Uniting Church in Queensland and associated agencies are significant and nuanced. These resources below have been provided for those who could not attend or wish to revisit the sessions to further inform on the topic of VAD. The sessions have been provided in the order they occurred over the course of the event. There are also a number of other links to publications which have been released by the Synod and Uniting Care Queensland over the last several years.

There will be ongoing dialogue and resources provided as the full implications of this legislation become clear as the act comes into effect.
