Moderator's Medal - Nominations by Monday 21 September 2026

Nominations are now open for the Moderator’s Community Service Medal, and we invite you to help us recognise the remarkable volunteers whose dedication, compassion and service make a lasting difference in our communities.

Every day, volunteers across the Uniting Church and its agencies help bring the UnitingCare mission to life. The Moderator’s Community Service Medal is an opportunity to celebrate those volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation and care through their service, and who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of others.

Nominations are open from Monday 10 August 2026 and close on Monday 21 September 2026.

If you know a volunteer whose contribution deserves recognition, we encourage you to nominate them.

Leaders of Volunteers, we would greatly appreciate your support in sharing this opportunity with your volunteer teams and encouraging nominations within your service. Your encouragement can help ensure the remarkable contributions of our volunteers are recognised and celebrated.

Who can be nominated?

• Current or former volunteers supporting community services through the Uniting Church or one of its agencies. 
• Volunteers who have demonstrated outstanding service over a number of years and made an exceptional or innovative contribution. 
• Nominees must not be current employees of the Uniting Church or one of its agencies (including UnitingCare and Wesley Mission).

Every nomination is an opportunity to celebrate someone who has made a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Thank you for helping us recognise the volunteers who give their time, skills and compassion to make our communities stronger.

Award recipients will be announced during the Uniting Church in Australia Queensland Synod meeting, taking place from 22 October –26 October 2026.

Following the announcement, recipients will be presented with their Moderator’s Community Service Medal in their local community by the Moderator, alongside UnitingCare and Uniting Church leaders. Family, friends and invited guests will also be invited to join in celebrating this special achievement.
