The Aitkenvale congregation is seeking a Minister to lead its congregation in worship, mission and service. Aitkenvale Uniting Church (AUC) is situated in a suburb of Townsville, Queensland, Australia’s largest tropical city. It has a long history of worship and community service. Townsville is a city with a population of 200,000 with a university, state and independent schools, public and private schools and many natural attractions.

Like many churches worldwide, AUC has suffered from the effect of COVIDand, for the first time in over 100 years, was forced to move its Minister’s appointment to 0.8. We are determined, together with the new Minister, to move back to full-time as soon as possible.

The congregation is seeking a minister with sound theological training to lead it through involvement in congregational life and groups in the church, worship, making disciples, and outreach to families. There is an opportunity to build upon and further develop community outreach and service to refugees and disaffected youth.
