Policy and Compliance Officer (Early Learning)

The Uniting Church in Australia (the Church) is a large uniquely Australian Christian denomination in Australia with heritage from historical reformed evangelical denominations. In Queensland, the Uniting Church has around 250 congregations and has schools, colleges and large community services (such as UnitingCare and Wesley Mission Queensland).

We are seeking an individual to join us and provide specialist support in relation to policy and compliance with a focus on the early education sector.

The position’s key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance frameworks for Uniting Education Early Learning (includes Childcare, family day care, outside school hours care, In-Home Care).
  • Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures and guidelines, as required.
  • Ensure the organisation has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality forms.
  • Undertake analysis of business processes and operations against regulatory and other frameworks.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Qualifications in compliance and auditing a must
  • Demonstrated moderate experience in compliance, risk assurance and/or governance ideally within the early learning sector.
  • Previous experience in developing compliance and / or policy framework.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in complaint handling and investigations.
  • Working knowledge of the ISO 19600 Compliance Is this related to organisational compliance need to be a little more specific
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework including the Education and Care Services Law (Queensland) and Education and Care National Regulations.

Remuneration

Remuneration negotiations with the successful candidate will be within the applicable remuneration range.
