St. Lucia Uniting Church is excited to announce a unique job opportunity for individuals passionate about music and worship. The church is actively seeking a Worship Coordinator, a role that promises to be both fulfilling and challenging, in line with the church’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join the team at St. Lucia Uniting Church, located at 7 Hawken Drive, St. Lucia, QLD. This part-time position, requiring eight hours a week of dedicated service, is initially set for a one-year term. The Worship Coordinator will be compensated at $32.65 per hour, with an additional Superannuation of 11%. The next review for this position is scheduled for March 2025.

St. Lucia Uniting Church prides itself on being a close-knit community. Strategically located near the University of Queensland, the congregation is experiencing a season of regeneration. This period marks an exciting time for the Worship Coordinator to significantly impact the worship experiences, resonating with the diverse St. Lucia community.

The primary role of the Worship Coordinator will involve collaborating with church ministers to create and lead worship services. These services aim to honour the timeless traditions of the faith while making worship relevant and meaningful to young adults and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The role encompasses leading the musical aspects of the weekly worship service, selecting appropriate music and liturgical elements, creating engaging PowerPoint presentations, coordinating and developing volunteer teams, and ensuring the proper functioning of sound and multimedia equipment. The Worship Coordinator will also be responsible for upholding the values of the Uniting Church in Australia and adhering to all organisational policies.

Candidates for this position should demonstrate a strong commitment to following Jesus, understanding the Uniting Church’s mission and ethos, and relevant experience in music performance and volunteer coordination. Additional skills in sound equipment and multimedia technology will be considered advantageous.

Applicants must comply with Queensland’s legal requirements, including undergoing a “Working with Children Check” (Blue Card). Eligibility to work in Australia is also a prerequisite for this role.
