What is our missional impact for the Uniting Church in Queensland?
The Queensland Synod missional impact envisions us working together as a wider Uniting Church community to make a sustainable difference for First Peoples, Tomorrow’s People, Diverse People and One United People. This involves the Synod office, congregations and presbyteries working in collaboration with our agencies and schools to enable the future of mission for the communities whom we serve.
As part of this missional momentum, the Presbytery Mission Program of the Uniting Church in Queensland is designed to encourage the development and implementation of projects that achieve rich missional outcomes for church planting, Indigenous ministry, youth and children’s ministry, multicultural ministry and remote/rural area ministry.
Our aim for our Presbytery Mission Program is to invest in people, both lay and ordained, who will implement the objectives of our Presbytery Mission Program and make a positive difference to our local and wider communities.
All monies from the Presbytery Mission Program appeal will go to Presbytery Mission Fund. This will be used to enable mission projects across the state, depending on where the need is greatest.
The first project will focus on church planting. You can watch a video on church planting here or read articles on recent church plants across the Synod in the Winter edition of Journey. The schedule for future projects is outlined below.
Church planting-May 2019
Youth and young adults – November 2019
Rural and remote – March 2020
Multicultural ministry – June 2020
Indigenous ministry – October 2020
